The Academy of Care Practitioners has been formed to offer support, information and advice to social care workers.

The Academy's mission is to engage, empower and inform social care workers and to bring about greater public recognition of the valuable contribution they make to the health and wellbeing of society.

Membership of the Academy is open to all social care workers.

  • The ACP is committed to supporting Welsh Assembly Government's policy. It seeks to disseminate best practice and promoting health, wellbeing and the sustainable development of all regions of Wales. The ACP aims to support and develop the social care workforce, so that:
    • The uniqueness of each individual client is valued and placed at the centre of service provision
    • The richness of language and culture in Wales today is promoted
    • An improved philosophy of life and a healthier environment are given to future generations
  • Members' Information Service - using independent experts on training, personal and professional development,4 and career pathways
